Kid’s Club

Why does Dr. Pollei have a Kids Club?

When most people think of orthodontics, they think of teenagers. The fact is, most orthodontic treatment begins between the ages of 11 and 14. However, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children receive an orthodontic check-up around age 7 for a reason. By that age most children have a mix of adult and baby teeth and it is possible to identify potential problems with jaw growth and emerging bite problems. That is important because some orthodontic problems are easier and more cost- and time-effective to correct if they are identified and addressed early. The majority of the patients we see will not require early treatment, which allows Dr. Pollei to patiently await the most effective and efficient time for treatment while periodically checking on the development of the permanent teeth, jaws, and face.

Dr. Pollei’s Kids Club is designed for our young patients to be seen every 6-12 months for observation appointments at Pollei Orthodontics. This also allows your child to become more familiar with orthodontic treatment in anticipation of when the appropriate time to treat comes. We want each patient to feel like an important part of our office, because they are! Even if they are not yet in treatment.

How much does the Kids Club cost?

Nothing! At your child’s appointments, his or her growth and development will be monitored until the optimal window of growth is reached to begin orthodontic treatment. Any growth-related x-rays that are taken (if indicated) during observation appointments are also complimentary.

How does the Kids Club work?

It’s so easy! If immediate treatment is not determined to be indicated during your child’s initial examination, your child will automatically become part of our Kids Club. A follow up visit will be scheduled and your child will receive our super cool Kids Club t-shirt.

How does my child join?

Bring your child in for an initial evaluation at your convenience. The initial appointment takes between 45-60 minutes; depending on how much time is needed to discuss potential problems to watch, answer any questions you may have, and take an growth x-rays indicated. Just call us to set up your child’s initial exam. We look forward to having your child be a part of our Kids club!
